Do you have a favorite shirt/outfit/sweater that you like? One of mine is a sweater I have in my office. Whenever I get cold, I put that sweater on.

Likewise, what the Apostle Paul is saying in this verse is, to have unity in our community, we must put on love.

How do we put on love in our relationships?

We ask God to fill us with his love for others. We ask him to help us see them the way he sees them. We learn more about their story, which gives us compassion for where they are. We remember how God has forgiven us so we can forgive others that same way.

God wants us to love, not loathe. When you’re put off by someone, ask God to show you how to put on his love for them. Pray, “Lord, fill me with your love FOR them as I connect WITH them.”
