I’ve talked to a lot of people this week who are tired. Tired of all the infighting, anger, and division. Tired of all the violence and conflict. Tired of all the day-to-day tasks that seem to never stop.
I don’t know if any of that describes you at all. If you’re feeling at peace and we’ll rested, that’s awesome.
But if you’re overwhelmed, frustrated, discouraged, or exhausted know that you’re not alone. The fact that you got out of bed today and are choosing to do all the things even though you’d rather just lay in bed and binge watch Netflix makes the world around you all the brighter.
And if you are so weighed down by everything that’s going on in the world and in your world right now that you couldn’t get out of bed, know that doesn’t mean you’re weak or lazy. It means you’ve been hit hard by life and need to rest. It takes courage to admit that you’re hurting and to take care of yourself.
Today, I want to encourage you not to give it. Maybe you need to take a break. Maybe you need to say no to some requests and commitments so you can focus your time and energy on what matters most. That’s not quitting. That’s acknowledging your limits (which we all have) and making the changes you need to make. That takes guts and we need you to make the hard choices.
Know that your Heavenly Father sees you, loves you, and is running right beside you.
