There’s a lot going on in the world right now. If you’re feeling scared, worried, sad, lonely or discouraged, you’re not alone.
Grief, sadness, and anxiety about tomorrow are understandable emotions to have when things are falling apart today. It’s okay to feel broken up about the places where our world is broken.
All the sensations you’re having are your body, mind, and soul’s way of alerting you to the need for self-care. It’s not a sign you’re weak; it’s a sign you’re human. Listen to what they’re telling you and give yourself the care and compassion you need.
Cancel the plans you need to. Turn off your phone. Cry the tears you need to cry. Pour out your heart honestly to God. Journal. Watch something fun. Turn off the news. Work on a puzzle. Go for a walk. Draw and color.
Don’t try to carry everything that’s going on in THE world and in YOUR world on your own. Reach out to people you need and ask for their help. If you don’t have those people in your life, get involved in a church and look for healthy ways to build healthy relationships in your community.
Your feelings are valid. Take the time to listen to them and give yourself the care you need.
