Knowing what a win looks like in ministry is difficult. In football the win is touchdowns. In hockey its goals. In business its profits. We know for church it has something to do with changed lives but that’s still pretty vague.

To help clarify what a win looks like in our ministry my team and I put together this sheet that we’ll roll out in our volunteer orientation handbook later this month. In it we’ve listed what the primary win in each of our ministries is as well as some of the other wins that take place on the weekend and during the week.

Here’s what the wins look like for us right now (click on the image to enlarge):

This isn’t perfect, but it’s a start.

I hope you’ll make some time starting this week to meet with your team and church leadership and start talking about what a win looks like for you. The sooner you can identify and communicate it the sooner you and your team can start winning and celebrating.
