I found this cool picture over at TwentyTwoWords.com. Here’s a little bit more about it:

Baby hippos are born underwater at a weight between 25 and 45 kg (60–110 lb) and an average length of around 127 cm (50 in) and must swim to the surface to take their first breath. (source)

I think this is a good picture of what all of us need in our lives: friends to help nudge us in the right direction when we can’t get there by ourselves.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re in ministry or have a leadership position. We all need people in our lives who can point out our blind spots, encourage, and lift us up. I’m not a big country music fan, but I think Keith Urban got it right when he said: “Everybody needs somebody sometimes.”

Who is lifting you up and “nudging” you in the right direction in your life, ministry, and leadership?
